The Perry Memorial Hospital Auxiliary was organized by Mrs. Milo (Ann) Watson and Mrs. Edwin (Mary) Malzahn in October of 1962. Mrs. Marty (Georgia) McQuain served as president.  The first groups of auxiliary members were known as the “The Cheery Cherry Red Ladies”. Later the name was changed to the Perry Memorial Hospital Volunteers so that men could also become members.
The purpose of the organization was to assist the hospital in promoting the health and welfare of the community through the purchasing of much needed equipment for use in the hospital. These purchases, currently exceeding $75,000, are funded through fundraisers and sales of gift items in the gift shop.

Today, consisting of both male and female members, the Auxiliary continues it’s support and dedication to Perry Memorial Hospital.  Auxiliary members are very proud of the group’s accomplishments and dedication.
